The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) installed Christian Tadrus, PharmD, as its 2026-2027 president during the organization’s annual convention in Kansas City, Missouri.
In its Oct. 6 announcement, the NCPA said Tadrus has belonged to the organization for more than two decades. “In addition to owning independent community pharmacies and a direct primary care clinic in rural Missouri, Tadrus has served as president of the Missouri Pharmacy Association, as president and currently as vice president of the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy, and as an appointee to Missouri’s Joint Oversight Task Force for Prescription Drug Monitoring,” the announcement added.
Tadrus is also a strategy advisor for the Tadrus Advisory Group, “where he helps organizations and businesses navigate the complexities and nuances that lie at the intersection of industry and profession,” the NCPA said.
As he addressed the NCPA’s House of Delegates in Kansas City, Tadrus urged fellow independent pharmacists to engage in discussions about pharmacy practice, regulation, technology, payment and healthcare infrastructure.
“Decisions made somewhere else can determine what happens at your counter,” Tardrus said. “We know what it is like to unlock the door in the morning, take care of patients, and make payroll. We know where the friction is. We know what our patients need, what our teams face every day, and what it takes to make a pharmacy work.
“The work doesn’t stop at the pharmacy door,” he added. “We’re most effective when we are present before the decisions are made, but we cannot spend all of our energy adapting to systems designed by somebody else. There are places where we should feel free and give ourselves permission to build something different.”
