Inogen Sells Oxygen Rental Business, Signs Supply Agreement with Rotech
The manufacturer will continue to develop and produce respiratory equipment.

October 2, 2026 by Laurie Watanabe

Inogen (Nasdaq: INGN) has sold its American oxygen rental business to Rotech Healthcare — and has signed a long-term supply agreement with the national provider as well.

Beverly, Massachusetts-based Inogen will continue to develop and manufacture respiratory care products, including oxygen concentrators, portable oxygen concentrators, and CPAP masks for sleep apnea treatment.

The oxygen rental deal is worth up to $25 million, Inogen said in a Sept. 30 press release, with the transaction expected to close by the end of 2026.

“These transactions strengthen our business and financial profile, sharpen our strategic focus, and enable us to continue investing in innovative solutions that improve patient outcomes,” said Kevin Smith, president/CEO of Inogen. “Rotech’s strong reputation and respiratory care expertise makes it a proven and trusted partner for our patients. Together, we are focused on providing a smooth transition for patients and ensuring continued access to high-quality oxygen therapy solutions.”

Inogen said its simpler business model going forward is “designed to drive greater patient access, faster growth and improved profitability,” while adding that Inogen “will continue to leverage its core competencies in respiratory innovation.”

The supply agreement with Orlando, Florida-based Rotech “is expected to support accelerating patient demand and access to Inogen’s oxygen concentrators through Rotech’s national distribution network.”
