America Wellness Group (AWG), a healthcare platform created to acquire and integrate healthcare businesses in the United States, has announced its first acquisition: New Hampshire Medical Supply, a home medical equipment provider in the District of Columbia.
“The transaction is AWG’s first acquisition in the home medical equipment segment and marks the launch of a national buy-and-build strategy in the sector,” America Wellness Group said in a Sept. 21 announcement.
New Hampshire Medical Supply, founded in 1962 and based in Washington, D.C., serves more than 16,000 patients in the nation’s capital, Maryland and Virginia via six office locations. The company also provides equipment and supplies online.
Product lines include aids to daily living, respiratory, incontinence supplies, ostomy supplies, wound care supplies, bath safety, lift chairs, mobility aids, and diabetes treatment.
“NHMS is exactly the kind of company AWG was created to partner with: a trusted local institution with deep community roots, hospital and clinical relationships built over decades, and an uncompromising service culture,” said Marcio Lima, CEO of AWG. “This is our first acquisition in durable medical equipment — and deliberately the first of many.”
Paragon Ventures represented New Hampshire Medical Supply in the acquisition process. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
A national strategy for acquisitions
“Our strategy is to build a national home medical equipment platform one exceptional local operator at a time, giving each the technology, billing infrastructure, purchasing power and AI [artificial intelligence]-enabled operations of a large group, while preserving the local brands, teams and relationships that made them leaders in their communities,” Lima added.
New Hampshire Medical Supply will keep its “established name and local leadership,” the announcement said, with all current locations remaining open for business.
“AWG plans to invest in expanded service capabilities, digital ordering and automated resupply programs, and new product categories to serve the growing population of seniors and patients managing chronic conditions at home across the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region,” the announcement added.
Based in Denver, North Carolina, and founded in 2025, AWG said it was “actively pursuing additional acquisitions of home medical equipment, DME [durable medical equipment] and medical supply businesses across the United States.” The company is looking to partner “founder- and family-owned providers that have strong local reputations, established payer and referral relationships, and dedicated teams —offering owners a succession path that preserves their legacy, retains their people, and accelerates growth through AWG’s shared services, analytics and AI capabilities.”
