Quantum has launched an all-terrain 4×4 power wheelchair designed for outdoor adventures.
In an Oct. 15 press release, Quantum introduced the Outback all-terrain power chair, a K0899 (uncoded by Medicare’s Pricing, Data Analysis and Coding contractor) power mobility device developed in collaboration with the manufacturer’s Australian subsidiary.
“Crafted for those who dare to defy conventional limits, this rugged 4-wheel independent motor mobility solution promises to expand your outdoor driving experience, whether you’re navigating wooded trails or exploring uncharted terrain,” the announcement said.
Accommodates consumer or rehab seating
Providers can choose between a Q-Captain seat or TRU-Balance 3 powered seating with up to 10 inches of optional seat elevation for the new Outback. Smooth Ride Suspension (SRS) provides stability, greater sitting tolerance and improved ride comfort, even when driving over uneven terrain. The Outback comes standard with a Q-Logic 3e controller, a full lighting package, and 15-inch pneumatic tires.
The power chair’s standard top speed is 5 mph standard, with an optional 6-mph package also available. The Outback can be driven up to 3.2 mph while the seat is elevated.
The weight capacity for an Outback with a Q-Captain seat is 350 lbs. With TRU-Balance 3 seating — power tilt or power lift and tilt — the weight capacity is 300 lbs.
At launch, the power chair is available in camo black, camo desert, camo white, matte cadet, and matte tan. Additional colors — including camo tropic lightning and camo jungle — are upcoming.
