HME Business New Product Awards: Valere Health Autoflow, Valere Health
The Valere Health Autoflow by Valere Health has been named a 2025 HME Business New Product Award winner.

March 6, 2026 by Jessica Longly

The Valere Health Autoflow by Valere Health has been named a 2025 HME Business New Product Award winner in the Smart Technology category by HME Business.

The HME Business New Product Awards program recognizes outstanding innovations throughout the home medical equipment (HME) industry across a range of technology categories, from respiratory and sleep to mobility, accessibility and urological supplies. Dewey Roof, CEO of Valere Health, sat down with HME Business to share more about the Valere Health Autoflow solution and share his thoughts on the future of the industry. To learn more about the HME Business New Product Awards and view all of the 2025 winners, visit https://hme-business.com/new-product-awards/.

HMEB: Tell us about the Valere Health Autoflow solution, including its top features and benefits.

Roof: Valere Health Autoflow is a workflow automation utility built specifically for post-acute healthcare providers. It uses AI-powered robotic process automation (RPA) and event-driven data streaming to automate repetitive, manual tasks across the revenue cycle from document intake and insurance verification to QA/QC, order confirmation, and claims processing. Top benefits include:

  • Automation that works invisibly with your existing systems (no rip-and-replace required)
  • Fewer claim denials through real-time data validation
  • Faster task completion
  • Reduced administrative overhead
  • The ability to scale operations without adding headcount

HMEB: In designing this product, what were the top goals of the design team/engineers? What did they most seek to achieve?

Roof: Our primary goal was to create automation that meets HME/DME providers where they are. We don’t expect owners and operators to change their workflows or replace existing systems. The result of our work is invisible infrastructure that runs behind the scenes, eliminating manual bottlenecks without disrupting daily operations.

The team also prioritized flexibility and speed. Every HME business operates differently, so we designed Autoflow to be tailored to each organization’s specific workflows rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution. Implementation typically takes 30-60 days, not months.

HMEB: Who and/or what were the inspirations for your winning product’s functionality, features and design elements?

Roof: I previously owned and operated an HME company before selling it to build Valere Health. I lived the daily frustrations of manual data entry, swivel-chair tasks, staffing shortages, and the constant pressure of shrinking reimbursements. That firsthand experience shaped everything about Autoflow.

We built what we wished existed when we were operators ourselves: automation that actually works with the messy reality of healthcare systems, not some idealized version of it.

HMEB: Who benefits from your product? Can you offer a “typical” client profile?

Roof: Autoflow benefits HME/DME providers and technology providers struggling with manual, labor-intensive workflows across their revenue cycle. A typical client is a small-to-midsize HME provider dealing with razor-thin margins, staffing shortages, high denial rates, and the operational burden of scaling their business without adding proportional headcount.

These organizations typically have teams doing repetitive work–tasks like manually keying orders, verifying insurance, conducting quality checks, and managing authorizations. These providers are looking to reclaim that time for higher-value work like patient care and growth initiatives.

HMEB: Does your winning product offer adjustability or customizability for the different needs of different consumers/users?

Roof: Yes. Autoflow is built around each organization’s existing systems and processes. We don’t force a standard workflow. We tailor each automation to match how you actually operate.

Our automations cover the full spectrum of revenue cycle tasks: document intake and triage, insurance verification and eligibility, authorizations/PARs, QA/QC for order submission, order creation and confirmation, claims processing, denial triage and resubmission, cash application, resupply processes, and more. If there’s a repetitive workflow in your business, we can automate it.

HMEB: How does your winning product optimize independence, function, safety, confidence, success with everyday goals, etc., for its users?

Roof: Valere Autoflow empowers HME providers to operate more efficiently and confidently. By automating time-intensive tasks, organizations can clear backlogs, reduce manual errors, and accelerate operations. Staff are freed from repetitive work to focus on patient care and growth initiatives.

The platform also improves compliance and documentation accuracy through real-time data validation, reducing the rework and delays caused by claim denials. Ultimately, Autoflow gives providers the operational foundation they need to scale sustainably by handling increased workloads without proportional increases in staffing or stress.

Valere Health is SOC 2 Type 2 certified, ensuring healthcare-grade security with an immutable event log. Data moves fast, securely, and exactly where it’s supposed to go. This certification gives providers confidence that their patient information and business data are protected to the highest standards while benefiting from the speed and efficiency of automation.

HMEB: What funding options are available for this product?

Roof: Autoflow is a B2B software service, not a patient-facing product, so it is not HCPCS coded. It’s offered as a subscription service with implementation and ongoing optimization included. Pricing is based on the scope of workflows automated and the scale of the organization’s operations.

HMEB: What makes a product or service an HME Business New Product Award winner? What advice do you have for future entrants?

Roof: A winning product solves a real, painful problem in a way that actually works for the people using it. In HME, that means understanding the operational reality of staffing challenges, the margin pressure, and the complexity of payer requirements. It’s also important to build something that fits into that reality rather than asking providers to change how they operate.

We built Valere Autoflow from experience, not assumptions. We listened to operators. Solved problems they’re actually facing. And ensured our product delivers measurable results.
