Graham-Field Doubles Down on U.S.-based Manufacturing

September 22, 2022 by David Kopf

Multi-line HME maker Graham-Field has continued investing in its U.S.-based manufacturing efforts with the installation of a multi-million-dollar 3D Fiber Optic Laser Tube Cutting System in its 156,000-square-foot Wisconsin steel fabrication facility.

Expected to be operational by mid-2023, the new equipment should expand Graham-Field’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, according to Kurt Hellman, senior vice president of Manufacturing for the company.

“The high performance and flexibility to process round, square, rectangular and special shaped tubing, plus angle iron, channel and flat bar steel will allow us to manufacture a wide variety of components that make up several of our critical product lines,” Hellman explained.

“The 3D-Tilt Cutting Head enables fast, accurate and repeatable cuts by utilizing a computer-guided, graphical interface,” added Tushar Desai, vice president of Quality and Manufacturing. “This accuracy brings a new level of quality to our finished products. This level of quality is critical in healthcare grade products.”

Headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., Graham-Field product brands include Basic American Medical Products, Everest & Jennings, Gendron, Grafco, Hausted, Intensa, John Bunn, Labtron, Lumex and Lumiscope.
