VGM Launches Post-Acute Homecare Playbook
VGM & Associates has introduced a new playbook, “Perspectives on the Next Generation in Post-Acute Homecare.”
In an April 16 news announcement, VGM said the new publication “provides a succinct view on the next generation of the industry.”
“Innovations and evolutions of technology, services, products, software, and even customer experiences continue to shape the next era of the post-acute homecare industry,” said Mandi Rodgers, VGM’s VP of marketing, in the announcement. “Our goal with this publication is to encourage VGM members to embrace the opportunities and challenges that are creating the next era of post-acute homecare to maintain longer-term viability in our industry.”
The playbook is now available to VGM members via the members-only portal.
Resources Spotlight: “Ask Apria” Supports CPAP Consumers
If you work with patients who use CPAP systems, take a look at the “Ask Apria” series of newsletters, in which respiratory therapists answer questions from CPAP users.
Recently addressed questions include, “Why do I get a headache when I use my CPAP?” Respiratory therapist Ryan Jones from West Tennessee, answered, “This could be caused by several different things, but please make sure that you discuss any symptoms with your physician. Your CPAP pressure may need to be adjusted. The pressure could be too high or too low.”
Jones adds that the CPAP’s humidifier might need to be adjusted: “If you are waking up with a dry mouth and/or nose, you may need to increase the moisture setting on your humidifier. This dryness increases the risk of sinus congestion and nasal infections, which may lead to headaches.”
Consumers can submit their own questions that could be answered in a future edition, and industry stakeholders can sign up for the newsletter on the Apria website.
