Cardinal Health’s Environmental Plan Wins SBTi Approval
Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has approved Cardinal Health’s near-term science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
We are committed to reducing our impact on the environment and contributing to a more sustainable world,” said Megan Maltenfort, Cardinal Health’s vice president of environmental, social and governance, in a March 15 news announcement. “We value our work with SBTi and will continue taking proactive steps to address climate change and to reduce the environmental impact of our products and processes.”
Maltenfort added that Cardinal Health will also collaborate with supply chain partners “to collectively address the impacts of climate change.”
SBTi is a collaboration among the Carbon Disclosure Project, United Nations Global Compact, We Mean Business Coalition, World Resources Institute, and World Wide Fund for Nature. On its website, SBTi said, “By guiding companies in science-based target setting, we enable them to tackle global warming while seizing the benefits and boosting their competitiveness in the transition to a zero-carbon economy.”
