Auto access and portable ramp maker Harmar Mobility has acquired stairway lift manufacturer Summit Lifts. Harmar says that Summit’s stairway lifts will serve as the “capstone” for its home access line, which includes vertical platform lifts and bath lifts.
Harmar will continue to use both its brand and the Summit brand name for its products and will continue to support Summit’s existing provider/dealer network.
Harmar adds that it will apply its Harmar Lowest Advertised Price policy to Summit stairway lifts, and that it will expand the Summit brand to add new products designed to be solely marketed over the Internet. This will help prevent Harmar dealers from having prices for their merchandise being compared to pirces for similar online goods, the manufacturer says.
Support for previous Harmar and Summit products will continue to be backed by both warranties and sales, support and technical staff, according to Harmar.
