The Durable Medical Equipment Medicare Administrative Contractors (DME MACs) have released HCPCS code updates for durable medical equipment and Complex Rehab Technology equipment, effective April 1.

In an April 12 bulletin, CGS Administrators — the Jurisdiction B and C DME MAC — listed the following updates:

A4271: Integrated lancing and blood sample testing cartridges for home blood glucose monitor, per month.

E0152: Walker, battery powered, wheeled, folding, adjustable or fixed height.

E0468: Home ventilator, dual-function respiratory device; also performs additional function of cough stimulation; includes all accessories, components and supplies for all functions.

E2104: Home blood glucose monitor for use with integrated lancing/blood sample testing cartridge.

E2298: Complex rehabilitative power wheelchair accessory, power seat elevation system, any type.

The April update also included the deletion of code E2300, formerly for Wheelchair accessory, power seat elevation system, any type. The E2300 code was eliminated as part of the decision by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to provide Medicare funding for seat elevation on qualifying power wheelchairs.
