CareCentric Ramps Up Education Efforts with New Partnership

May 1, 2007 by HME Business

Bruce Brothis, president of Allegient Billing & Consulting, has joined CareCentric to offer his services in education efforts. Brothis joins HME billing and consulting experts Nancy Burma and Jane Bunch and brings a background of 26 years in the HME industry and expertise in Medicare, Medicaid and third-party intake, documentation, billing and collections.

As one of his first initiatives, Brothis helped CareCentric launch a newsletter at Medtrade Spring to bring critical information to the HME industry. Called oneSource, the quarterly newsletter will present information needed by providers to manage their businesses.

“Providers are bombarded by data on regulatory and compliance issues,” said Brothis. “We want to help them sort through everything to get to the essence of what they need to know. This newsletter, along with other vehicles we are developing, will offer HME business owners a source for information they need to stay in compliance and run their businesses.”

CareCentric is also expanding its educational services to include a certification program that will include all aspects of running an HME business, including billing, merchandising, inventory management and personnel management. In addition, the company will offer face-to-face and Web-based seminars on general management as well as specific industry issues.

To support its focus on helping HME businesses grow and thrive, CareCentric’s team of consultants also provides a complete suite of services that include operational assessments, dealing with commercial payers, HME/IV business startup and audit defense. With the advent of competitive bidding, CareCentric also offers coaching on preparing for that program, and the mandatory accreditation that accompanies it. In addition, CareCentric also staffs management professionals to help run critical areas of HME companies on either a short- or long-term basis.

“This enhancement of our education and consulting offerings naturally builds on our vision of providing a range of business services, along with software and other technology, to the entire home care industry,” said Ana McGary, CareCentric senior vice president. “Our partnership with Bruce Brothis, in concert with all the other experienced HME business professionals, deepens our existing expertise in the industry, allowing us to provide our customers with a total business solution.”
