Loh Medical Appoints New CEO

Loh Medical, a leading provider of assistive technology to Latin America and the Caribbean, has a new CEO.

In an April announcement, the company introduced Alvaro Ramirez, who took over as CEO on April 24.

Loh Medical promoted from within, as Ramirez has served as General Manager of Loh Medical Colombia and as COO of Loh Medical.

The announcement said Ramirez has more than 20 years in the assistive technology industry, and that his appointment “comes at an exciting time for Loh Medical, as the company continues its mission to provide mobility and independence for people with physical disabilities. With over 200,000 patients served in more than 24 countries, Loh Medical has earned a reputation as a trusted leader in the field.”

Ramirez added in the announcement, “I am delighted about the appointment and the upcoming projects we will be focusing on. There are many opportunities to continue developing the company and increasing our marketshare. We have an incredibly talented team, and together I am eager to see what we will accomplish in this next chapter.”

Ramirez takes over for Loh Medical founder Perry Loh, who announced his retirement. Loh will continue to serve on the Loh Medical board of directors, and continues to serve on the board of the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).

Loh was first elected to the RESNA board in 2020 and currently serves as the conference chair for RESNA’s annual conference, taking place in July in New Orleans.

Loh Medical is based in Clarks Summit, Pa.
