The United Spinal Association has named Lisa Wells, vice president of marketing at Cure Medical, to its board of directors. Wells is well known in the mobility community for her work on Wheel:Life and Life After Spinal Cord Injury, web sites and social media communities that serve the interests of wheelchair users.
“After serving people with disabilities for nearly a decade, this is a wonderful opportunity to further the support, programs and resources available to people who use wheelchairs nationwide,” said Wells. “I’m honored and look forward to serving United Spinal members and their loved ones as an advocate in an ongoing and significant way.”
Wells’ expertise and experience spans more than 20 years in public relations, marketing communications and web-based product management for medical device, medical supply and health technology companies. Beyond Cure Medical, she has worked at 3M Healthcare Information Services, Ceridian, UroMed and SIGVARIS.
Wells also was the president of Get Social Consulting, an online marketing consultancy that helped providers better connect with their clients via digital marketing programs and social communities. She’s authored four books for the disability and homecare industry, and is a frequent speaker and presenter at healthcare and disability conferences nationwide.
“Lisa’s wealth of industry-related marketing experience and knowledge of critical issues impacting the disability community will help guide our organization’s outreach efforts and national initiatives to improve the quality of life and independence of our members,” said James Weisman, United Spinal’s president and CEO.
