David Cormack, president and CEO of HME management software company Brightree LLC, recently sat down with Tech Edge, an Atlanta-area television program, to discuss key trends in the post-acute segment of U.S. healthcare.
“In the next five to 10 years, the healthcare industry is going to go through more change than in the last 40 to 50 years,” Cormack told the NBC affiliate WXIA host Christine Pullara. “At the core of this, the cost of healthcare has gone through the roof.
“… The market is going to shift to an outcomes-oriented, performance-based model,” he continued. “The three, key healthcare settings — acute care, physician practice management and post-acute care, which is home health agencies, hospices, home medical equipment providers — are going to have to collaborate in order to provide one holistic view of the patient and the outcome.”
