SPORTS ‘N SPOKES and Cure Medical is accepting entries until Aug. 16.
The event asks people who use wheelchairs to send in photos of themselves enjoying accessible vacation spots, outdoors programs and other activities and encourages people with disabilities to travel, explore the world and find active lifestyle programs.
Christopher Di Virgilio, the Wheels UP! co-founder and SPORTS ‘N SPOKES web content manager, said that since the beginning of the program, which used to be known as Get Out, Enjoy Life, he and his co-founder held true to the spirit of the program.
“For SPORTS `N SPOKES, the Wheels UP! event is much more than a simple photo contest,” he explained. “It’s a way to bring a community together and encourage people to seek out an active, healthy lifestyle while exploring the world around them.”
“Since 2012, when Lisa Wells and I started Get Out, Enjoy Life, one fundamental value has always held true: to always showcase our readers’ limitless spirit of adventure,” Di Virgilio added.
There will be a first-place, second-place, third-place and an honorable mention winner. The first-place winner’s photo will be on the front cover of the November 2019 SPORT ‘N SPOKES issue and will receive a $1,000 Southwest Airlines E-Gift Card.
