In response to President-elect Barack Obama’s call for community healthcare discussions posted on his transition web site, The VGM Group Inc. (Waterloo, Iowa) will sponsor a town hall meeting Dec. 19 at 10:30 a.m. at the company’s corporate headquarters, 1111 W. San Marnan Drive.
VGM Group says it has sent invitations to Senators Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) and Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), as well as Congressman Bruce Braley (D-Iowa). VGM also invited metro area hospital administrators, referral sources, physicians and Medicare beneficiaries.
“VGM has been serving the home healthcare marketplace for more than 20 years,” said Van Miller, CEO and founder of VGM. “We are concerned about a number of issues that will be facing the new administration and the American people, and are happy to participate in the conversation about health care reform.”
