VGM & Associates has added three consultants to its professional services team.
Steve Baker, Brian Bersano and Tonya Williams bring “decades of experience and specialized expertise that will further enhance VGM’s ability to deliver strategic, operational and compliance support to its members,” the member services organization said in an Aug. 28 news announcement.
Baker, the president of Healthcare Efficiency Associates, is a durable medical equipment (DME) consultant who has held leadership positions at Lincare and Respiratory Health Services, and has also been involved in multiple DME startups. His areas of expertise include interim leadership, electronic medical records (EMR) selection, accreditation preparation, insurance contract negotiations, and performance turnaround.
In more than 30 years of experience in health care, Bersano has worked in physical therapy and has also held executive leadership and ownership positions in DME. His areas of expertise include regional ownerships, custom mobility, payer contracting, and post-acquisition integration. “Most recently, Brian led a nationwide $85 million capitated payer contract for DME across 32 states,” VGM said.
Williams’ experience in health care includes working at national hospice director for a national provider and overseeing more than 250 branches under the chief operating officer’s leadership. She has expertise in revenue cycle management, revenue optimization and the implementation of process improvements and best practices after serving the DME industry for three decades.
