VGM, ACU-Serve Announce Strategic Partnership
VGM said new agreement helps providers deal with staffing shortages.

June 11, 2024 by Laurie Watanabe

VGM & Associates and ACU-Serve have announced a strategic partnership “to address the increasing demand for greater efficiency in serving a growing patient population.”

VGM made the announcement in a June 6 press release. ACU-Serve, based in Akron, Ohio, provides comprehensive health-care solutions to deliver superior services and innovative technologies to health-care organizations nationwide, while streamlining processes and helping companies to optimize their operations.

“VGM is committed to supporting our members and the ever-evolving needs they have as the industry progresses,” said Barry Thwaits, senior VP of business development for VGM. “One of the biggest challenges we have identified is the need for more outsourced services to address staffing shortages. Our new partnership with ACU-Serve allows us to address this need with a respected provider of services that can address multiple operational needs of DME providers.”

“We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with VGM, a leader in post-acute health care,” said Jim Knight, partner and CEO at ACU-Serve. “Together, we’ll forge strong industry relationships, driving innovation. This marks a long-awaited milestone, reflecting our commitment to exceptional service. Since I entered this industry in 1989, VGM has been an organization that has been an inspiration for ACU-Serve. With a wealth of ideas, we’re poised to introduce unprecedented solutions.”

VGM’s announcement added that the new partnership “is set to create a new benchmark in the HME [home medical equipment] sector by combining VGM’s extensive network and industry expertise with ACU-Serve’s innovative operational solutions, ultimately benefiting health-care providers and patients alike.”
