The University of Pittsburgh’s International Seating Symposium (ISS) team has launched an on-demand continuing education units (CEU) program featuring educational sessions from April’s live ISS in Pittsburgh.
The Oct. 11 announcement listed “course bundles” of sessions on subjects such as Pediatric Mobility, Part 1: Wheelchairs & Seating, which was released Oct. 11. The next course bundle, to be available Oct. 18, is Pediatric Mobility, Part 2: Other Topics & Assistive Technology.
Manual Wheelchairs, Part 1: Configuration & Function will be available Nov. 1, followed by Manual Wheelchairs, Part 2: Power Assist & Other Clinical Considerations, available Nov. 8. Additional course bundles and their timing will be announced going forward.
The ISS 2023: On-Demand homepage lists the bundle’s size and CEUs available. The Pediatric Mobility Part 1 bundle, as an example, is 5.5 hours of instruction and .55 CEUs, at a cost of $279.
Those who registered for the ISS 2023 live event are eligible to register for the course bundles and earn CEUs for free. Those attendees should check their e-mail for a payment code from ISS before enrolling in the course bundles.
Anyone can view the recordings free of charge on the RSTCE + ISS YouTube channel, but to earn CEUs, courses must be purchased and viewed in the bundled format.
The ISS team has previously announced the new 2024 Virtual Professional Summit (Feb. 7 and March 6, 2024) and the 39th International Seating Symposium taking place in person at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh in March 2025.
