The Compliance Team (TCT) is celebrating “30 years of optimizing health-care delivery and patient outcomes with their proprietary Exemplary Provider Accreditation and Certification Programs,” the company said in a March 26 news announcement.
The 30th anniversary commemoration was a focal point of TCT’s booth at Medtrade, which took place in Dallas, March 26-28.
A more streamlined approach to accreditation
The news announcement credited TCT’s ongoing success to its mission of making the accreditation process more accessible and efficient.
“Since forming The Compliance Team in 1994, Sandra Canally, RN, founder and CEO, has been at the forefront of transforming health-care accreditation through the simplification of what was an overly complex, burdensome, and costly process into a more streamlined approach and reliable indicator of patient care quality,” the announcement said. “As Canally likes to say, ‘Simplification leads to clarity, and clarity allows the provider to discover and focus on quality improvements and services to their patients.’”
The announcement also noted that Canally’s history as a nurse guided her vision for TCT.
“As an industry thought leader for more than 50 years, it was Canally’s passionately held beliefs that every patient deserves exemplary care; health-care delivery excellence should not be difficult or costly to achieve; and ‘Safety-Honest-Caring’ is what matters most to the patient,” the announcement said. “That has made accreditation more accessible to providers and ensured patient quality was at the forefront of every accreditation.”
TCT said in the announcement that since 2009, the company has been “the only national accreditation organization certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.”
Remembering the first 30 years
To date, TCT has accredited more than 10,000 providers in the durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS); pharmacy; infusion; rural health; health department; and swing bed fields in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. TCT currently offers 30 accreditation and certification programs.
“It’s hard to believe it’s been 30 years since I left the nursing community to start The Compliance Team,” Canally said. “Building a successful business in a volatile industry as health care has had its many challenges and rewards. Helping health-care providers deliver the utmost care to their patients has always been our top priority. Our success reflects decades of health care, home care, pharmacy, DMEPOS and operations-based experience and knowledge among our executive team, advisors, evaluators, and staff.”
