Synapse Health has named Jay Shah its new chief financial officer, noting Shah’s “deep expertise in finance and the DME [durable medical equipment] ecosystem.”
In an April 29 news announcement, the Skokie, Illinois-based company said Shah would also join its executive leadership team, led by CEO Cory Roberts and President Mandira Singh. Singh was elevated to president on April 16.
“Jay’s strong business acumen and hands-on experience in the DME industry make him an exciting addition to our growing leadership team,” said Roberts, who is also Synapse Health’s cofounder. “Having someone of his caliber join our mission to improve the DME experience for patients, prescribers and DME providers underscores the power and promise of our unique, tech-enabled model. He will be a key leader in our efforts to transform the DME industry toward value-based care.”
Most recently, Shah served as the CFO at Integra Partners, a services company in the DME industry. “Prior to that, Shah held several leadership roles at American Express Company, including vice president and CFO, global commercial payments, where he oversaw operating results across the U.S., Canada and Latin America,” the Synapse Health announcement said. “He also served as vice president and CFO at Global Prepaid Group and Global Real Estate Group.”
“Joining Synapse allows me to leverage the lessons I’ve learned in the DME space to advance a more streamlined, patient-centered experience for all stakeholders,” Shah said. “I look forward to supporting the expansion of our DME provider network and finding new ways to foster mutually beneficial partnerships across the industry. The data is clear: There’s tremendous potential to improve outcomes and satisfaction across the board, and I’m proud to be part of a team dedicated to meaningful, industry-wide transformation.”
