Sunrise Medical has acquired substantially all of the assets of Switch-It Inc., which develops, designs, manufactures and distributes special drive controls/special input devices used in complex rehab power wheelchairs. 

A statement from Sunrise says the buy expands its portfolio within the complex rehab technology industry and further positions the company for “significant growth.” The alignment of the two longstanding players within the complex rehab technology industry will provide a number of long-term growth opportunities, and will foster new co-development programs and specialty design for multiple mobility needs, according to Sunrise Medical.

“Switch-It is a strong fit with our business and this acquisition accelerates our global offerings in the high end mobility market” stated Pete Coburn, president of U.S. Commercial Operations for Sunrise Medical. “We are committed to innovative product development and providing solutions that bring superior value to customers”.
