Time has flown! Just two short years ago, Respiratory Management debuted at Medtrade in Atlanta. This month, we circle back to where it all started, savoring the milestones and renewing our commitment to the respiratory segment of home care.
Over the past two years, RM has worked diligently to cover breaking news and delve into topics at the heart of respiratory. We’ve covered such topics as home sleep testing, business models for oxygen and the saga of respiratory funding. We’ve also brought in experts to discuss everything from pulmonary rehab to competitive bidding. RM exclusive surveys have provided vital information on the state of the oxygen market and issues pertinent to home care respiratory therapists.
To bring readers more coverage, we expanded from six issues to nine. In 2009, we’ll add yet another issue. We also launched a monthly e-newsletter, e-Spire, to deliver breaking news faster.
We have no intention of slowing down. As we renew our commitment to covering the topics most important to the respiratory industry, we will increase our coverage of the growing sleep market. We plan to publish an exclusive all-sleep issue in summer 2009 and closely monitor reimbursement changes for this segment. Our pledge is to have at least one article on the sleep market in every issue.
We’re also unveiling our first editorial advisory board, which kicks off this month with 12 uniquely qualified and experienced industry representatives. We’ve selected respiratory therapists, providers, legislative and education experts, and those who specialize in our core topics — sleep, oxygen and asthma. The board will help direct our editorial strategy, contribute story ideas and columns, provide insight on new technology, reimbursement and business trends in respiratory, and act as a sounding board for our continued in-depth coverage.
As we head into 2009, I hope you will tell RM your thoughts. After all, this is the only magazine in the home care industry dedicated to the needs of the respiratory segment, and we want to hear from you!
Here’s to another year of success!
