Producers of Medtrade Announce Leadership Change

January 1, 2007 by HME Business

VNU Business Media has named Liz Sommerville as group show director for Medtrade and Medtrade Spring.

Before joining VNU as group marketing director in September 2001, Sommerville began her career in London working for the International Exhibition Co. where she concentrated on the Middle Eastern market. After transferring to the exhibition center in Bahrain for a number of years, she joined the Convention Management Group in Virginia where she gained extensive experience in the management and marketing of events such as the Food Marketing Institute and the Worldwide Food Expo.

“I am pleased to announce that Liz Sommerville will be the director of Medtrade and Medtrade Spring,” says Joe Randall, VNU Business Media senior vice president. “Her extensive experience in the trade show industry will enable her to guide the Medtrade staff in providing new opportunities for our attendees and exhibitors.”

Sommerville’s involvement with Medtrade is immediate. In her new role, she will focus on strategic initiatives to ensure a solid return on investment for attendees and exhibitors, providing solutions to current issues surrounding the industry. Sommerville also will work toward initiating new programs and services that speak to the immediate needs of the HME industry.

Medtrade Spring 2007 is set for April 24-26, 2007. For more information about the event, visit www.medtradespring.com or call (800) 933-8735. VNU’s upcoming health care events include Medtrade 2007, scheduled for Oct. 2-4, 2007, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando and Medtrade Spring 2008, which will be held May 7-8, 2008, in Long Beach, Ca.
