Paragon Ventures is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its strategic mergers and acquisitions for healthcare businesses.
In a Feb. 26 announcement, the Newtown, Pa.-based company said that since its founding in 1994, “the company has grown with offices nationwide and most recently opened an office in Puerto Rico.”
“Paragon Ventures has successfully completed over 350 strategic mergers and acquisitions transactions in 45 states and across the continuum of healthcare including HME/DME, infusion therapy, behavioral health, medical device, pharmacy, home health, hospice and advanced medical technologies,” the announcement added.
Roots in the DME industry
While Paragon Ventures marks its 30th birthday this year, its health-care roots extend back decades further. “Long before Medicare was established in 1965, Marc Rose and his family of pharmacists established a chain of pharmacies and developed a multi-location home medical equipment (HME) distribution business,” Paragon’s website said.
The Rose family sold its group of pharmacies and HME businesses in 1984, and those proceedings had a significant impact on Marc Rose’s next career steps. Rose formed M.S. Rose & Associates, described as a business focusing on high-level executive search and business management services to the home health industry.
Then in 1994, Rose and Richard G. Davis Jr. founded Paragon Ventures “to assist health-care companies in the sale of their businesses,” the company’s website noted. “Paragon experienced rapid growth as health-care business owners embraced the professional expertise they brought to middle market M&A [mergers and acquisitions].”
Thanking team members and business partners
“Over the past three decades, Paragon has been a driving force in transformative M&A deals, contributing to the growth and evolution of hundreds of health-care organizations nationally,” the announcement said. “The company’s commitment to deploying strategic vision, passion and dedication to its clients has positioned Paragon as a trusted partner for health-care business stakeholders.”
Rose, who now serves as Paragon’s president and managing partner, acknowledged the efforts of the Paragon team and its clients over the years.
“We have had the privilege of working with some of the most talented professionals in the industry. I am grateful for the support and confidence placed in us from colleagues and clients, past and present,” Rose said.
Paragon CEO and Managing Partner Jonathan Sadock added, “Our 30th anniversary is a testament to the trust placed in us by our clients and partners. We are honored to have been a part of so many successful transactions over the years and excited about the future as we continue to help business owners realize the ultimate transaction for their health-care business.”
