Numotion has acquired New York complex rehab technology provider Monroe Wheelchair.
For the past 75 years, Monroe served thousands of customers as one of the largest regional CRT providers in the United States. In addition to Monroe’s customer contacts, Numotion will now have access to the company’s Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and software.
“Monroe’s commitment to compassionate care and their tireless efforts to dignify life through enabling independence, enhancing comfort and ensuring dreams, are perfectly in line with our mission at Numotion,” Mike Swinford, the CEO of Numotion, said in a public statement.
All of Monroe’s more than 80 CRT and speech design employees will join Numotion. The team will have access to a more extensive product offering and larger support infrastructure to enable more efficient delivery of services, according to the company’s Feb. 21 announcement.
Monroe’s customers will continue to receive services through existing office locations in Rochester, Syracuse and Albany.
“Numotion was the best choice for us, no question,” Doug Westerdahl, the CEO of Monroe, said. “Their customer-centric focus and employee-supportive organization align with our values and business principles.”
Westerdahl added that Numotion’s infrastructure will ensure that customers have the most “responsive service experience” possible.
“My belief is that we can improve more lives working together than we could each do alone,” Westerdahl said.
