Registration is now open for the 2024 National Home Infusion Association (NHIA) annual conference, scheduled for March 23-27 in Austin, Texas.
In a Nov. 7 news announcement, the association referred to the conference as “the premier education and networking event for the home and alternate site infusion industry.” Noting that this year’s event boasted record attendance, the NHIA said next year’s meeting “will feature four days of educational content on topics selected for their relevance by industry-leading experts and drawing from more than 120 industry submissions on the most current practices and challenges.”
Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, nurses and dietitians will be eligible to earn more than 40 hours of continuing education credit, in addition to opportunities to network with peers. “Three keynote sessions offer powerful takeaways related to personal and professional success; a high-level industry outlook; and essential knowledge and tools to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion,” the announcement said.
In addition, the NHIA’s Sterile Compounding Clinic will provide “a rare opportunity for optional hands-on training in a simulated clean room environment.” Participants can earn more than 15 additional hours of continuing education credit “and is a PTCB [Pharmacy Technician Certification Board]-approved education/training program for the Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) Certification.”
The event will also include an expo showcasing more than 120 exhibitors and featuring pharmacy products and services.
NHIA President/CEO Connie Sullivan said, “It is exciting to see the year-over-year increases in attendance at our annual conference – it is reflective of the growth in home and alternate site infusion services. Each year, NHIA looks for ways to evolve the conference by bringing in fresh ideas while also maintaining the high-quality education and intimate atmosphere attendees appreciate. Among other changes this year, we are adding interactive workshops, as well as repositioning the ever-popular roundtables, moving them earlier in the schedule to facilitate opportunities for individuals to connect, network, and share ideas.”
