Medtrade 2024 attendees will have a new scooter manufacturer to visit.

In a Nov. 21 news announcement, Medtrade said Great Circle Products had signed up to display the SuperHandy line of scooters in Dallas in March.

The Ontario, Calif.-based company specializes in home improvement tools and equipment, including products in the lawn and garden, industrial tools, and home and kitchen segments.

But at Medtrade, Great Circle will be highlighting its mobility lineup, which includes lightweight, foldable three- and four-wheeled scooters. SuperHandy scooters use 48-volt lithium-ion batteries to provide greater range per charge. Some SuperHandy models have weight capacities of 300 lbs. or more.

A 48-Volt Lithium-Ion Platform

In the Medtrade announcement, Jeff Chen, Vice President and Managing Director of Great Circle, said the company has been offering mobility products for the last two and a half years.

“A couple years ago we identified a need on the mobility scooter side,” Chen said. “We integrated our 48-volt lithium battery platform. We’re using our lithium battery platform technology from the outdoor power equipment sector, transferred into the mobility scooter side for three wheels, four wheels, wheelchair, and even the tricycle. We have an electric tricycle using the same battery platform.”

Great Circle also sells the SuperHandy Foldable Aluminum power chair, with a top speed of 4 mph.

“We are e-commerce driven, selling from Amazon and other online channels,” Chen said of Great Circle’s initial selling structure. “Now we’re looking into the retail brick-and-mortar sector.” Chen said Great Circle’s Medtrade 400 square-foot booth will feature five or six of the distributor’s scooters.

“We average about 500 scooters per month in sales,” Chen said. “We want to continue to explore our brand at Medtrade, get attention, and hopefully the brick-and-mortar side will pick up our brand.

“We have local customer support in California that is dedicated to customers, so when they ask us for parts or troubleshooting, we are glad to help.”

Medtrade 2024 takes place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, March 26-28. The expo hall will be open March 27-28. Registration is now open.
