The national Small Business Revolution campaign recently decided to highlight a prosthetics company where a former Paralympian now serves fellow amputees.
At six-months, Joe Sullivan became a below-the-knee amputee due to cancer, and was taken to Powell Orthotics & Prosthetics, which has been in business 1932. As the years passed Sullivan became a paralympian, and then came full circle back to Powell, as a technician and then as co-owner of the O&P provider that first assisted him at the very start of his life.
Now, Sullivan and fellow co-owner Michael Montero provide prosthetics as well as advice to the patients to help them understand they’re capable of doing anything people with all their limbs can do.
