Medtrade has announced a new managed care educational track for its 2025 event in February.
In a Dec. 6 press release, Medtrade said the new track, created by the American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare)’s Payer Relations Council, will consist of six classes, plus two more sessions on complementary topics.
The track will have two categories: Basic Payer Relations for Newcomers and Advanced Payer Relations Strategies. The basic category “will provide information on regulatory bodies, building and maintaining effective relationships with payors, and the most up-to-date information to help providers engage the most important stakeholders in this space.
“More seasoned payer relations professionals will want to access the ‘advanced’ category and delve into sophisticated negotiation techniques and complex contract negotiations — plus advanced technologies including AI, emerging trends, and the future landscape of the DME industry.”
Speakers for the Managed Care track include David Chandler (AAHomecare), Miriam Lieber (Lieber Consulting), Amanda Minimi (Aeroflow), Jason Morin (Analytx), and Laura Williard (AAHomecare).
Williard helped to develop the Managed Care track curriculum and will be co-presenting “Current and Future Trends and Innovations in Payor Relations” with Amanda Minimi. That session “was created for providers to be able to hear from experts from various insurance payers on the value of HME,” Williard said. “Providers will be able to learn where the payers see value in HME providers and how they can partner with the payers for better outcomes. Attendees should expect to learn where these payer experts see the health-care landscape evolving in the future. Anyone involved in payer relations, contracting, or business strategy development will not want to miss this session.”
Medtrade takes place Feb. 18-20 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas.
