Medtrade attendees chose the Rehasense Eco Assist power-assist system as their favorite entry in the New Product Pavilion at Medtrade last week.
The annual tradeshow for the home medical equipment (HME) industry took place March 2-4 in Phoenix, and attendees were invited to vote during expo hall hours on March 3-4.
The UpRiser, a powered raised toilet system manufactured by Vital Fjord, won the Providers’ Choice Silver award. SleepRes’s Kricket PAP, featuring the Kairos Positive Airway Pressure system for patients with obstructive sleep apnea, won the bronze.
Rehasense’s Eco Assist power assist mounts to the front of rigid and folding wheelchairs with fixed-front frames to provide power support for self propellers. It features a twin (mechanical disc and electric) brake system, walk function, traction control, and reverse gear. Cruise control is available as an option. The company also sells the PAWS power-assist series, with systems for different types of terrain.
The UpRiser is a battery-operated, height-adjustable toilet seat that moves vertically and is designed to reduce strain on the user’s hips and knees (as well as strain on caregivers). Thanks to quick assembly, the UpRiser fits easily into private home bathrooms, rehab settings, and temporary support environments.
The Kricket by SleepRes features Kairos Positive Airway Pressure, described by the company as “a radically new pressure algorithm that treats obstructive sleep apnea as effectively as CPAP while improving patient comfort to increase therapy adherence.” The Kricket was created to minimize pressure-related complaints such as leaks, dry mouth, and bloating.
