The Kentucky Medical Equipment Suppliers Association (KMESA) has honored Wayne Knewasser with its Legislative Advocacy Award, which is now named in Knewasser’s honor.
Knewasser is the vice president of public relations and government affairs at Premier Home Care Inc., a Louisville-headquartered provider of in-home care services and home medical equipment that serves the state via multiple locations. He has served on behalf of the industry in various capacities for both KMESA and the American Assocaition for Homecare.
In the past KMESA has recognized members and legislators with a similar distinction, but Knewasser is the first to receive this new award.
“As KMESA Board President I felt compelled to recommend renaming the award for a true homecare champion and making him the first recipient,” KMESA’s Thad Connally said. “KMESA and AAHomecare owe a debt of gratitude to Wayne for his passion to this industry and now his name will be on our annual award to always honor him.
“As a past board president of KMESA and AAHomecare board member, Wayne has put in so much effort as an advocate for this industry.” Connally continued. “He has travelled to DC countless times to fight for homecare on Capitol Hill, lobbied in our state capital and truly been an example of what a homecare advocate should be.”
