Inogen (Nasdaq: INGN) has introduced a stationary oxygen concentrator for long-term-care patients living at home or in residential settings.
The Voxi 5 stationary oxygen concentrator “augments the company’s line of portable oxygen concentrators, significantly expanding the market potential while leveraging existing sales channels,” Inogen said in a June 23 news announcement.
Inogen, based in Goleta, California, added that the Voxi 5 “combines affordability with durability, setting a new standard in oxygen therapy.” The concentrator was designed as “a value-driven solution for price-sensitive customers or those in need of an additional unit for multi-room use.”
The new oxygen concentrator was developed in collaboration with Yuwell Medical, a medical device manufacturer headquartered in Nanjing, China. Yuwell’s scope includes “establishing industry standards and providing outstanding products within the home-care and chronic disease management fields,” including respiratory therapy, diabetes management, and medical imaging, the company said.
Inogen and Yuwell’s collaboration delivered an oxygen concentrator that provides one to five liters per minute “of quiet, pure, continuous flow oxygen in a compact and efficient design,” the Inogen announcement said. Casters enable the Voxi 5 to be easily moved within patients’ homes to enhance their personal mobility.
“With Voxi 5, we are fulfilling our mission to make respiratory care more accessible and empowering for patients,” said Kevin Smith, Inogen’s president/CEO. “This launch exemplifies our commitment to innovation, affordability and enhancing the quality of life for those dependent on oxygen therapy.”
