Hymie Pogir Joins Sunrise Medical as SVP of Marketing and Program Development

January 1, 2007 by HME Business

Hymie Pogir, of Stealth Products fame, has joined Sunrise Medical. He assumes the newly created position of SVP of marketing and program development.

“Firstly I have to say that I am excited to be a member of the Sunrise organization,” says Pogir. “If you would have asked me a year ago where I saw myself in the future, I would have said that I do not anticipate any change. However, once I fully understood the company plans and experienced the dedication of the Sunrise team, I was hooked on joining the company. Now I am looking forward to participating as we execute the plan.”

In addition, Tiago da Silva has been appointed SVP of sales. Both Pogir and de Silver will report to Mike Hammes.

Carey Winkel, who has held the position of president of commercial operations for North America for the last three and a half years, will move back to her previous role of SVP of strategic planning.

“The timing of being able to bring Hymie to the team and work side by side with a real professional like Tiago da Silva is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said Hammes. “It also allows me to bring Carey back to a role that the company really needs her leadership and focus on.”

In internal communication to associates, Hammes said that the emergence of China as a major producer of DME products and evolving public health care system processes in North America will have a huge impact on the industry. “If we are to maintain and build upon the successes that we have had and are continuing to have, then we must be prepared to continue to make appropriate changes in a timely manner,” he said.
