The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) has reported that in 2023, Medicare denied more than $28 million in routine and non-routine medical supply claims for beneficiaries involved in home health episodes. These are difficulties that home medical equipment (HME) providers can’t afford to ignore.
In a free March 13 HME Business webinar — Consolidated Billing – Home Health and DMEPOS — Kim Brummett (senior VP of regulatory affairs, AAHomecare) and Noel Neil (chief compliance officer, ACU-Serve) will discuss Medicare’s home health benefit and how it can impact routine and non-routine DMEPOS.
Neil and Brummett will also share proactive strategies to help providers reduce or prevent claims denials for supplies linked to home health episodes, and will explain the key steps in appealing denials to secure reimbursement from Medicare, the home health agency, or the Medicare beneficiary.
Brummett will also discuss how AAHomecare is advocating for critical program reforms.
Webinar registration, sponsored by ACU-Serve, is free. The presentation will include a Q&A session and will also be recorded for on-demand listening after the live event.
