The 3-in-1 Bathcessories Grab Bar / Shampoo Shelf / Washcloth Holder by LiveWell Home Safety Solutions, LLC has been named a 2025 HME Business New Product Award winner in the Bath Safety category by HME Business.

The HME Business New Product Awards program recognizes outstanding innovations throughout the home medical equipment (HME) industry across a range of technology categories, from respiratory and sleep to mobility, accessibility and urological supplies. Scott Blakley, president and chief innovation officer at LiveWell Safety Solutions LLC, sat down with HME Business to share more about the 3-in-1 Bathcessories Grab Bar / Shampoo Shelf / Washcloth Holder solution and share his thoughts on the future of the industry. HMEB: Tell us about the 3-in-1 Bathcessories Grab Bar / Shampoo Shelf / Washcloth Holder, including its top features and benefits.

Blakley: Thoughtfully designed to deliver a safe, secure and truly luxurious showering experience, this innovative 3-in-1 solution blends fall prevention hidden in plain sight with elevated décor aesthetics. No institutional look — just beautiful, intentional design.

At its core, the grab bar showcases a clean, flowing curve with LiveWell’s signature slanted ends, delivering both style and ergonomic support. Enhanced with Easy-Clean Rubber Nubby Grips, two LiveSafe Stud Mount Flanges, and two PATENTED MOUNT DADDY Hollow Wall Blocking Anchors, it offers exceptional strength, stability and peace of mind.

The lightweight, easy-to-remove shelf features a refined stone-inspired aesthetic and is proudly fabricated in the USA. A built-in guard rail keeps bottles securely in place, while discreet end extensions double as convenient hooks for loofahs or accessories. Beneath the shelf, a dedicated washcloth holder — a rare and thoughtful addition — adds everyday functionality where it’s needed most.

HMEB: In designing this product, what were the top goals of the design team/engineers? What did they most seek to achieve?

Blakley: The goal was to achieve the ultimate end user experience, combining safety and fashion. LiveWell seeks to dive into the mindset of the end user experience before we design to achieve optimal safety, aesthetic elegance, enhanced mobility, increased accessibility, easy installation and affordability for the masses in every product we design.

HMEB: Who and/or what were the inspirations for your winning product’s functionality, features and design elements?

Blakley: Truly, the inspiration for this product came from what is not out in the marketplace. True innovation explores what is not being offered yet as much as what is available, but keeps a strong focus on the end user experience that is not being provided. For example, who doesn’t find it difficult to hang your washcloth in the shower? So we added a washcloth holder.

HMEB: Who benefits from your product? Can you offer a “typical” client profile?

Blakley: While the HME category is primarily geared toward the aging population, this 3-in-1 product benefits people of all ages who need fall prevention, organized storage and easy access to bathing and cleansing products, all while maintaining a luxurious aesthetic. For example, a senior or a child can benefit from a shower organization solution that securely stores body wash, loofahs and washcloths without the worry of bottles slipping off the shelf and onto their feet, thanks to the integrated guard rail thoughtfully designed into the product. Unstable seniors and young kids benefit from the grab bar.

HMEB: Does your winning product offer adjustability or customizability for the different needs of different consumers/users?

Blakley: Yes. The shelf includes two MOUNT DADDY Hollow Wall Anchors and two LiveSafe Stud Mount Flanges with screws, allowing it to be mounted virtually anywhere on the wall — whether or not studs are available. The mounting posts are spaced 16 inches apart; however, if your studs are 24 inches apart, the MOUNT DADDY Anchors provide a secure and reliable blocking solution.

HMEB: How does your winning product optimize independence, function, safety, confidence, success with everyday goals, etc., for its users?

Blakley: The 3-in-1 Grab Bar, Shampoo Shelf, and Washcloth Holder addresses multiple needs by combining fall prevention with accessible and safe bath storage that is fully integrated into the support system, while maintaining a beautiful decor focused design that helps preserve dignity.

HMEB: What funding options are available for this product?

Blakley: The 3-in-1 Shelf is for commercial sale to senior living, hotel, HME, DME, kitchen and bath dealers, installers and retail. Bulk pricing is available for all channels, except retail.

HMEB: What makes a product or service an HME Business New Product Award winner? What advice do you have for future entrants?

Blakley: New innovations that maintain, enhance, and extend the lives of end users in some way makes a home medical equipment product or service an award winner. My advice to future entrants is to ask yourself before entering any new product if it meets this criteria in a way distinctive and differentiated from other items in the marketplace. Are you in love with your product entry or will end users be grateful it solves their problems?
