GenHealth.ai has launched a home medical equipment (HME) automation solution powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
The new system’s goal is “helping [to] relieve the burden of complex workflows such as medical order intake, eligibility verification, and prior authorizations,” GenHealth.ai said in a June 4 press release. “This launch marks a major expansion of GenHealth.ai’s mission to bring intelligent, scalable automation to health-care operations-boosting accuracy, reducing delays, and accelerating access to care.”
GenHealth.ai’s system uses AI and large language models “combined with deep integrations into existing EMR [electronic medical records] and billing systems specifically for DME [durable medical equipment] and HME providers.”
Key capabilities of the new system are automated patient intake, real-time coverage and eligibility verifications, medical necessity and prior authorization submissions, and insight into payment analytics, GenHealth.ai said. The system also provides “seamless billing integration” with other systems, including those from Brightree and NikoHealth.
“With AI, customers are able to bring on our AI agent to help their existing teams process more cases and increase revenue while reducing administrative costs,” said GenHealth.ai Chief Product Officer Ethan Siegel.
The company said the new system has delivered a 505 reduction in manual review time, increased the number of processed orders per employee by four times, and has achieved 95%-plus alignment with human utilization management decisions.
“DME providers deserve tools that reduce friction across every step of the order process — and they shouldn’t have to rip out their systems to make it work,” said GenHealth.ai CEO Ricky Sahu. “Our AI integrates into existing customer apps without disrupting how their teams work today.”
GenHealth.ai has also created a prior authorization automation system to accelerate access to GLP-1 medications. The Vienna, Virginia-based company will be exhibiting at VGM Heartland the week of June 9.
