FLorida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has selected the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) to provide accreditation for HME providers in the sunshine state.
BOC is one of five CMS-deemed Accrediting Organizations to earn this designation.
“BOC is pleased to have the opportunity to provide DME suppliers in Florida with another option for achieving Home Medical Equipment licensure,” said BOC’s Chief Credentialing Officer, Wendy Miller, BOCO, CDME. “Our DMEPOS facility accreditation was designed to confirm compliance by DME suppliers to high industry standards. This benefits both businesses and consumers in Florida.”
BOC’s DMEPOS facility accreditation helps facilities avoid additional AHCA inspections, which should save time and expense for suppliers pursuing HME licenses in Florida.
A September letter from AHCA’s Program Administrator stated that BOC’s Facility Accreditation On-Site Survey Checklist for DMEPOS suppliers, combined with surveyor notes, meets AHCA’s requirements for Florida HME supplier licensure. The surveyors who perform facility inspections were trained on Florida licensure regulations by BOC. BOC also shares information about these regulations with its BOC-accredited HME suppliers.
