Fisher & Paykel Healthcare (NZC: FPH) has introduced the F&P Nova Micro mask, for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, to the American market.
In a Nov. 12 press release, Fisher & Paykel described the Nova Micro nasal pillows mask as the manufacturer’s “smallest and lightest mask yet,” designed to support “a natural sleep experience.”
“Weighing less than 1.4 ounces (40 grams), the new compact mask features minimal, easy-adjusting headgear and a soft MicroPillows cushion that nestles gently within the nostrils and inflates to conform to the patient’s nose,” the announcement said. “This provides stability and freedom of movement, allowing patients to sleep in their preferred positions.”
“With the introduction of Nova Micro, alongside our recently launched F&P Solo AutoFit mask and F&P Evora Full, we can now address a diverse array of patient needs and preferences,” said Steve Wilson, vice president of sales and marketing North America. “The F&P Solo AutoFit mask stands out in its category with its auto-adjusting headgear, while the Nova Micro fits universally with conventional headgear. With these additions we can cover all segments of customer requirements, offering a comprehensive range of mask options in the United States.”
The Nova Micro system comprises just three components: one-size headgear; MicroPillows cushion; and a compact frame, tube and swivel. The mask is available in small, medium and large cushion sizes.
The headgear can be adjusted on both sides of the patient’s face, allowing for fine-tuning to find the best possible fit. The F&P myMask app now includes the Nova Micro system to help patients and health-care professionals with mask setup and support.
Fisher & Paykel also released a video introducing the Nova Micro and demonstrating patient fitting.
The manufacturer is headquartered in New Zealand, with its American corporate office in Irvine, California. On Nov. 28, Fisher & Paykel will announce financial results for the six-period ending on Sept. 30.
