Fisher & Paykel Healthcare has announced upcoming changes to its executive management team, including a retirement and four new management roles.
In a Dec. 20 announcement, Fisher & Paykel said Paul Shearer — who has been with the company for 33 years and is currently its Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing — will retire at the end of March 2024. On April 1, 2024, Justin Callahan, who is currently the company’s President of North America and Europe, will succeed Shearer as Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
Shearer will remain in “a part-time advisory position” with Fisher & Paykel Healthcare for the next two years, the announcement added.
The company also announced that Andy Niccol has been appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer; Malena Ortiz is becoming the General Director — Mexico Operations; Desh Edirisuriya is the new General Manager — New Zealand; and Raelene Leonard is the new General Counsel & Company Secretary. Niccol, Ortiz, Edirisuriya, and Leonard will all join the executive management team “to lay the groundwork for its next phase of sustainable, profitable growth,” the announcement said.
Lewis Gradon, Managing Director & CEO of Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, expressed appreciation for Shearer’s efforts and remarked on the future of the company as well.
“Paul has played an incredibly significant role in the Fisher & Paykel Healthcare story,” Gradon said in praising Shearer. “Joining us in 1990, he established our sales operations in several major markets, including the United States and the United Kingdom, and under his leadership we have built a direct sales presence in more than 50 countries. I wish to thank Paul for his dedication and support, and I’m pleased that we will retain his expertise in an advisory capacity going forward.”
Gradon added, “As our business continues to scale, ensuring we remain well structured for future growth is essential. That rationale underpins each of the decisions we are announcing today. We now have multiple manufacturing sites worldwide and a growing number of distribution locations. We want to create a sustainable business structure by establishing a global operations function which includes manufacturing and supply chain.”
