Fastrack Upgrade Includes Major A/R Enhancements

December 11, 2008 by HME Business

HME Software provider Fastrack Healthcare Systems (Plainview, N.Y.) debuted major enhancements to its A/R Collection Manager Module, as well as more than 100 new features to its HME, Infusion Pharmacy and Home Healthcare Agency System.

“We are focusing our development efforts on enhancing areas of the system that will help our clients succeed in these difficult economic times,” said Fastrack President Spencer Kay. “Clearly a place where Fastrack can make a significant difference is in aiding our client’s collection efforts.”

In the new version, 2.6SP8, Fastrack has enhanced its A/R Collection Manager Module so that invoices in the A/R Collection screen are now displayed with easy access to key information regarding open invoices. Collectors can now drill down on invoices to see a complete history of the order. Using the screen collectors also can:

  • See days outstanding for the overall invoice, assign a follow-up status and associate notes with the invoice.
  • Resubmit claims right from the Collection screen including making any necessary changes to the invoice.
  • Carry out cash posting, including real-time processing of credit card payments.
  • Access various documents including ERNs, copies of checks and signed delivery tickets with the Integrated Fastrack Document Manager all from one convenient location.

Other upgrades in the new version include enhancements to its credit card processing, order dispatching and delivery, custom forms designer, referral source management, claims resubmitting and its Point of Sale Module, which was recently updated to incorporate touch screen technology. All of Fastrack’s user documentation is now available within the application along with search capabilities.

Clients of Fastrack’s Integrated HME, Infusion Pharmacy and Home Care Agency System also can take advantage of new workflow enhancements. Follow-up tasks can now be assigned from the RX dispensing record screen, including system-calculated next refill dates, which ensure prescriptions refills are completed in a timely manner. This becomes an interactive refill schedule allowing for the compounding of refills right from the task list.

The upgrade also included new Consolidated and Split billing options features, as well as the ability to ensure that nursing visits that are entered into the system include the necessary skill sets for that patient. Fastrack has incorporated the OASIS data set into the patient assessment record and provides for a completely integrated PPS billing flow from submission of the OASIS forms to calculate a HHRG to the final submission of the RAP claims for payment.

Also, the upgrade’s interactive Live Calendar views let scheduling staff manage multiple employee schedules with drag-and-drop functionality in a Windows Calendar look and feel. Visits are then transferred electronically to either Fastrack’s Home Infusion or Home Health Applications, negating the need for nursing order entries and ultimately streamlining billing.
