Encore Healthcare has achieved HITRUST r2 Certification for its Nexus software platform that supports home medical equipment suppliers focusing on respiratory and sleep apnea treatment.
“HITRUST r2 Certification demonstrates that the organization’s [system or business unit scope] has met demanding regulatory compliance and industry-defined requirements and is appropriately managing risk,” Encore Healthcare, based in Livingston, Tennessee, said in a Jan. 13 news announcement. “This achievement places Encore Healthcare in an elite group of organizations worldwide that have earned this certification. By including federal and state regulations, standards and frameworks and incorporating a risk-based approach, the HITRUST Assurance Program helps organizations address security and data protection challenges through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.”
Keisha Harper, Encore Healthcare’s COO, emphasized how critical security is in the health care industry.
“As the stakes around data security and privacy continue to rise, our customers need partners they can truly trust,” Harper said. “By earning HITRUST r2 Certification, we’ve validated that our systems and processes meet some of the most demanding standards in health care — so our clients can move forward with confidence.”
“Without consistency, transparency and reliability, an information security assessment can’t provide the requisite level of assurances needed to make important business decisions,” added Vincent Bennekers, vice president, quality. “That’s why we focus on producing the highest-quality reports available. Achievement of a HITRUST r2 Certification is an assurance that Encore Healthcare takes compliance and information risk management seriously.”
