Drive Medical has acquired Compass Health Brands, manufacturer of a large range of home medical equipment categories, including respiratory, sleep apnea, bath safety, beds, support surfaces, mobility products, and TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) therapy.
Terms of the deal were not released.
“The acquisition further strengthens Drive Medical’s product portfolio and expands its ability to serve retailers, consumers and health care providers with high-quality, innovative solutions across the continuum of care,” Drive Medical said in a Jan. 29 announcement. “Compass brings a complementary mix of branded and private label offerings, strong customer relationships, and proven capabilities that align closely with Drive Medical’s long-term growth strategy.”
Compass Health, based in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, comprises a number of brands, including Carex, ProBasics, TheraMed, Roscoe Medical, and Meridian Medical. Drive Medical said in the announcement that Compass Health’s product range “is expected to enhance Drive Medical’s existing offerings and support continued expansion across retail and e-commerce channels.”
Going forward, Compass Health will be a division within Drive Medical, “followed by a phased integration into the broader organization,” the announcement said.
“Compass has always focused on creating meaningful brands and products that improve everyday care for people,” said Stuart Straus, CEO of Compass Health. “Joining Drive provides the investment, infrastructure and global reach needed to accelerate innovation and scale our solutions far beyond what we could achieve independently. Most importantly, I want to thank the Compass team whose commitment, resilience and customer focus built the foundation that made this next chapter possible.”
In December, Drive DeVilbiss announced it was rebranding to Drive Medical with DeVilbiss Healthcare becoming a Drive Medical brand.
Drive Medical is based in Port Washington, New York.
