Long-time trade publication editor David Kopf has joined HME Business to lead editorial efforts of the newly launched publication, as well as its web site.
Home Health Products was relaunched as HME Business starting with its January 2008 issue in order to better address the business and production information needs of HME providers in a changing marketplace and regulatory landscape. HME Business will be distributed each month, with special supplements appearing in the March and September issues, and Medtrade show editions appearing in May and November.
“The industry is facing some changes, and likewise, so is our magazine,” Kopf said. “Product coverage still lies at the heart of HME Business, but our goal is to also help HME providers leverage technology innovations and new market opportunities.
“I couldn’t have asked for a more compelling industry to work in, and am chomping at the bit to serve the readers of HME Business to the best of my ability,” he added. “I count myself lucky to be here, and hope we enjoy much success together!”
While Kopf is new to the HME industry, he boasts a deep background in print and online trade media serving specialized industries.
Kopf started his business-to- business editorial career in 1993 as an associate editor for Voice Processing Magazine and Enterprise Communications; then became managing editor and web editor of the century-old publication America’s Network; served as editor-and-chief of TeleProfessional/Customer Interface; joined Business Communications Review as its West Coast Editor; and was Editorial Director of Boardwatch and ISPWorld.com, as well as conference chair for the Service Networks tradeshow. Most recently, Kopf was a program manager for the Motorcycle Industry Council and a senior marketing communications manager for American Home Mortgage.
“We’re excited to have David join the team,” said Karen Cavallo, HME Media Group Publisher. “He brings a level of creativity, enthusiasm and innovation that is bound to resonate with everyone in the industry.”
“I know from personal experience that David puts the readers’ interests first and foremost,” said Laurie Watanabe, HME Media Group Editorial Director, who worked with Kopf at Enterprise Communications. “HME Business if off to a great start with our January issue, and Kopf will keep that momentum going.”
