CMS has posted the final revision to its DMEPOS Quality Standards. Few changes were anticipated when CMS told a teleconference last week that the changes would be released this week, and the new document confirms that.
The most notable changes:
- When providing complex power wheelchairs in group 2 or higher, providers much now employ on a W2-basis at least one rehabilitative technology supplier (CRTS or AT) per location. Previously, that relationship could have been handled on a contract basis.
- More detailed and specific guidelines for providing diabetic shoes.
