A draft policy from CMS is proposing changes to reimbursement for hot water therapy pumps (E0217) that could have a severe business impact for providers of those devices.
In an NHIC letter to Jurisdicition A providers dated Sept. 18, CMS proposes a draft policy that would change reimbursement for those devices to be the same as heating pads (E0210 and E0215), a much lesser amount.
CMS is currently soliciting comments for the policy, which are due Nov. 3. Providers can submit their comments regarding the proposal via the web, or on print to:
