The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has reaffirmed that the target bid window for the rebid of round one of competitive bidding will remain Oct. 21. That date was originally announced as part of the full round one re-bid timeline released on Aug. 3.
CMS says it is currently on schedule to meet this target date. The opening of the 60-day bid window will officially be announced via a listserv e-mail message.
The agency also announced that in order to avoid any overlap of the round one re-bid contract period for mail-order diabetic supplies and a possible contract period resulting from a national mail-order competition, the round one re-bid contract period for mail-order diabetic supplies will be two years. The contract period for all other round one re-bid product categories will be three years.
