Computer Applications Unlimited, which makes the Solution/One HME software system, has entered into a joint venture with Mike Tracey Consulting, LLC which is run by industry veteran Mike Tracey, to provide consulting services to its users.
“For providers that already use Solution/One HME, we can assist with automating procedures using Document Imaging and PDA Computing,” Tracey says. “We can maximize day-to-day use of this powerful HME software tool and even provide supplemental training.”
Mike Tracey Consulting was launched earlier this year when, after more than 30 years managing businesses in the HME industry, Tracey decided it was time to go out and help other providers with soup-to-nuts consulting services for the HME industry, and launched his business.
“There are a lot of companies that I see out there that are kind of operating in the dark for various reasons,” Tracey says, explaining that it is difficult for providers to stay on top of the multiple factors affecting their businesses in a constantly shifting business, healthcare and funding environment. “The priority is to stay on top of all the industry changes and address all the changes as quickly as possible, and not just Medicare — it’s a constantly changing industry.”
Tracey’s consulting services include accreditation assistance and compliance, HME operations and business management, financial consulting, human resources, retail design and software integration and other technological advancement. CAU will specifically leverage Tracey’s ability to help HME providers through software and technology issues.
“My forte is the business operations side of things and trying to create efficiencies and nail down costs, and how you do that is through computerization,” he says.

“I’ve been a user of their system for 17 years,” Tracey notes, adding that he had heavy dialog with CAU in the early days of its software to help develop new features. “We spent many times together with notebooks trying to figure out what we could do to improve certain parts of their program as far as functionality and things like that.
“So I’m very familiar with their software, they’ve been a great company to work with,” he continues, “so it was a good, natural partnership.”
“We’ve always enjoyed working with Mike Tracey as his HME software partner,” says CAU President and CEO Terry Dinsmore. “Now, we’re excited to promote his new venture. He certainly has a lot to offer HME providers.”
