CareCentrix has officially launched DME Navigator, a durable medical equipment (DME) benefits management solution co-developed and co-delivered with Optum, part of UnitedHealth.
In a July 1 news announcement, CareCentrix, headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut, described DME Navigator as “a new tool designed to modernize the ordering and distribution of durable medical equipment services, which includes items like wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, and oxygen concentrators that can significantly enhance the quality of life of patients in home-care setting[s].”
CareCentrix said DME Navigator would streamline DME ordering and ensure “timely access to essential equipment, significantly enhancing health outcomes.”
“By streamlining the DME process, DME Navigator fosters improved collaboration and coordination between patients, home care providers, and physicians,” said Steve Horowitz, CEO of CareCentrix. “This next-generation solution reflects our deep commitment to enhancing access to care to enable health plans and clinicians to focus on what matters most — delivering high-quality care.”
“With nearly 30 years of experience in DME solutions, more than 4 million DME services coordinated annually, and proven results, CareCentrix is excited to further advance the management of this critical health-care service for health plan members,” said Haley Sofiane, CareCentrix’s COO. “This new collaboration embeds prior authorization workflows directly into the prescribing process and highlights our preferred provider network to ensure quicker access and reliable on-time delivery of clinically optimal equipment that patients need as they heal comfortably at home.”
CareCentrix, a wholly owned subsidiary of Walgreens Boots Alliance, offers value-based home solutions to payers and health systems to help its members to access home-based care, including home health services, DME, home infusion treatments, and sleep management.
