Cardinal Health has completed its acquisition of Advanced Diabetes Supply Group (ADSG), a national provider of diabetes medical supplies who supports approximately 500,000 patients per year.
“The acquisition is synergistic with Cardinal Health at-Home Solutions’ strategy to expand patients served and accelerate growth in key areas, including the increasing diabetes patient population,” Cardinal Health said in an April 1 news announcement. “The ADSG team will become a part of Cardinal Health’s at-Home Solutions business.”
Cardinal Health first announced the acquisition in November, when it said it had paid approximately $1.1 billion in cash for the Carlsbad, California-based provider.
In that announcement, Cardinal Health said Advanced Diabetes Supply Group “delivers comprehensive diabetes solutions that are tailored to support individual patients at home, consistent with Cardinal Health’s at-Home Solutions strategy to support this rapidly growing patient population.”
Advanced Diabetes Supply Group is led by CEO Bill Mixon, who, after the acquisition announcement last year, said, “We couldn’t be more excited about joining Cardinal Health at-Home Solutions to build on our mission of being a trusted partner in this critical space of the health-care industry. It’s clear that we both share the same passion of making sure the patients we serve have the best possible outcomes. Together, we can bring more simplicity, speed and quality to patients living with diabetes and the providers who care for them.”
In an April 2 social media post, Mixon said, “Through this acquisition, we’re positioned to expand our capabilities, offering a wider range of resources and personalized support. Cardinal Health shares our deep commitment to patient-centered care and innovation, ensuring a seamless transition and enhanced experience for our members. As part of the Cardinal Health at-Home Solutions division, we’ll be in an even stronger position to deliver care, compassion and expertise to our members and unparalleled support to our health-care industry partners.”
Mixon thanked Advanced Diabetes Supply’s “members, partners and employees,” adding, “Today our brands remain business as usual — but we’re excited to embark on this new chapter and look forward to sharing our progress. The best is yet to come!”
